Interactive Fantasy Music
I wrote some new music over the weekend. Its a fantasy track that I imagine might go with Humans in an RTS setting.

Pub crawl
Yesterday Nora and I went to our second pub crawl since we’ve been in Sydney with Nora’s uni mates. They’re all very friendly and I have a great time but it’s the wide range of nationalities that’s interesting. Israeli, Spaniard, Canadian, Italian, south African, Iranian, Dutch, German, Chinese, and Finnish. Multicultural or what?
Gaia Midi Device and Patches
I got the Gaia working as a basic Midi Device in Cubase, no panel controls as yet but still happy to have all my patches in order. I was gonna do the CDP-220R too but the channel and bank order appears to be completely random and even worse the manual is a locked pdf that doesn’t allow copy pasting. Too much work for too little payoff on that front.

Cubase Midi Devices and Fmod Unity Integration
Upon further investigation into creating a vst for the Roland Gaia SH01 I’ve hit gold. As Cubase is now my primary DAW yesterday I realized that I can just create a custom midi device and panel and use the sysex commands to control the synth. I’m pumped as I seem to waste a lot of time trying to find the right sound I created as the Gaia doesn’t have a name display. If I can...

Sydney beach experiences
So one might think that moving from Brisbane to Sydney would mean less coastal fun but for Nora and I that really hasn’t been the case. Since we got back from Germany we’ve been to the beach 3 times and from our new place in Epping, Dee Why beach is only 40 mins away. Much closer than from Camp Hill to the coast!
